Supporting Community Groups

To start celebrating Multicultural Queensland Month, we want to highlight beautiful stories from our multicultural community, their effort and their spirit of service. Today, we will share the amazing work of two wonderful women who run a Beginners Embroidery Circle for free every fortnight on Wednesdays at our Southport office. They teach the basics of cross-stitch whilst learning about traditional Palestinian embroidery, showing how it's more than just stitching, it's about connecting people and sharing life stories while having fun.

Brooke Hopwood and Victoria Lopez lead this awesome initiative from the Embroidery Circle group. They bring together people from different backgrounds to explore their creativity and a chance to learn new skills, creating a sense of belonging and community, celebrating traditional Palestinian embroidery, and, most importantly, enriching everyone's understanding of different cultures.

Let's celebrate their efforts in creating a united community through the love of embroidery.

If you want to join their group, please contact embroiderycirclegc@outlook.com or follow their community account on @goldcoast.forpalestine for updates.
