As the Federal election in Australia approaches, it’s crucial for all our communities to participate, understand the process, and have their voices heard. That’s why in our first Meet, Greet & Eat of the year, we will focus on “Voting and Participating in Australia’s Democratic Process.” During this session, we will have representatives from: Australian Electoral Commission explaining the electoral system and voting process and running a practical workshop for those unfamiliar with how to vote. SBS providing information about news and information for communities in 60+ languages and their coverage of the Federal Election. Voting is not just a right but a responsibility that ensures our democratic system reflects the will of the people. It allows us to influence our daily decisions, from healthcare and education to infrastructure and social services.
