Final Embroidery Circle for 2024
Last week, the Palestinian community proudly hosted its final embroidery circle for 2024, wrapping up months of connection, culture, and creativity. Held fortnightly in our Southport office, the embroidery circles aim to provide a safe, welcoming space where community can gather, connect, and immerse themselves in the rich tradition of Palestinian tatreez (embroidery).
These circles are open to women from all backgrounds, encouraging cross-cultural connections while sharing the art and history of tatreez. Participants not only learn the intricate stitching techniques but also enjoy the warmth of Palestinian hospitality, including traditional cuisine and music. Over the months, the circles have grown in popularity, with more women joining to share stories, build friendships, and celebrate cultural heritage.
The final gathering of the year took place last Wednesday, marking a moment of reflection and gratitude. The group expressed heartfelt thanks to Victoria and Brooke, whose dedication and passion have been instrumental in running the circles. They also acknowledged our invaluable support, which has made these gatherings possible.
Through these embroidery circles, women have found a nurturing environment to celebrate their creativity, form meaningful connections, and experience the beauty of Palestinian culture.
