Domestic Violence Prevention Month

Last week, our Care Finder team attended two important events. The first was the Domestic Violence Prevention Month breakfast, organised by the Domestic Violence Prevention Centre, and the second was the first meeting of the Gold Coast Dementia Friendly Network.

At the breakfast, our team heard from guest speaker Rosie Batty, a survivor of domestic violence and advocate for the cause. Rosie was named Australian of the Year in 2015 for all her work in the DFV space. It was inspiring to see so many support services, front-line workers, and members of the Gold Coast Police in attendance.

At the Gold Coast Dementia Friendly Network meeting, our team discussed challenging issues with Scott from PHN and other service providers and received valuable information from Dannielle from Dementia Australia.
