Dementia Essentials Training
Our wonderful Care Finder Navigators, Kym and Ping, participated in a Dementia Essentials Training offered by Dementia Australia. They learned valuable insights about the different types of dementia, the support services available, the best ways to assist and guide agitated clients, and the Sunflower model. During the training, they started implementing the Sunflower model into their Care Finder practice, and the results are amazing.
The Sunflower model is a tool to help build strong and trusting relationships with clients by asking simple questions about their lives and preferences. In this way, our Care Finder team can match clients with the most suitable services for their needs. The model also helps reduce anxiety and increase trust when interacting with clients.
The trainer highlighted: “Thank you so much for your commitment to providing the best support to people living with dementia. It is wonderful that you are now going to use the Sunflower going forward, and it is so good to hear how it helped to build a rapport with the person so they were more trusting.”
We are proud of our team for their passion and care for the community.
